About Danes Hill

Danes Hill School is widely recognised as one of the leading co-educational day preparatory schools in the country. Situated in 55 acres of landscaped ground in the village of Oxshott, Surrey, Danes Hill provides children aged 2 to 13 with a dynamic and exciting education.

Admissions

At Danes Hill School we pride ourselves in being a non-selective school and our admissions process is designed to identify children who are able to benefit from our balanced and well-rounded education. An offer of a place will be made if we feel Danes Hill is the right school for your child.

Wraparound Care

At Danes Hill School, we understand the needs of modern families and are committed to year-round support. From September 2025, we’re expanding our wraparound care, offering a safe and nurturing environment from 7:15am to 6:00pm at the Prep School and 7:30am to 6:00pm at the Pre-Prep (Bevendean).

We’re also partnering with Camp Beaumont, the UK’s leading day camp provider, to offer exciting holiday childcare and activity days. In addition, a range of specialised camps will ensure enriching experiences for all ages.

Pre-Prep

The first three years of school – Nursery and Reception – are together called the Early Years. The Danes Hill Pre-Prep school aims to help all children to take their first learning steps in comfort, safety and confidence.

Prep

The Prep School is divided into the Junior School (Years 2 to 5), and Upper School (Years 6 to 8), each with its own Head, its own assemblies and traditions, and very much its own ethos. Children are encouraged to feel allegiance to their own particular section of the school, and this sectional subdivision ensures that the school never feels overwhelmingly big.
