Nursery

Children are just beginning their educational journey at the Pre-Prep Nursery, they are laying the building blocks to all future learning.

The Nursery welcomes children once they have turned 3 years old. They join us in Transition where they attend a minimum of five sessions a week.

Our outstanding teachers look after all needs of the children – pastorally, physically, emotionally as well as educationally. Due to staff pupil ratios each child is treated as an individual and are encouraged to learn with their own unique style. Some children prefer outdoor learning, where they move around freely whereas others are more relaxed inside and some like a mixture of the two. Therefore we have ‘free flow’ areas where the children are able to choose and self-regulate how they want to learn.

As our Nursery is part of our pre-prep, our Nursery children also benefit from our wider school resources. Alongside the Early Years Foundation Stage core curriculum they all have lessons in swimming, performing arts, forest school, sport and languages with our specialist teachers.

We continually monitor the children to make sure that they are achieving their goals and milestones. We know our pupils really well and working closely with their parents we can ensure every child is being supported and stretched in a way that is appropriate to them.

The day starts between 8.25am and 8.55am with registers taken at 8.55am. Children who are staying just for the morning are collected at 12.15pm. Those who are staying for lunch and the afternoon session are collected at 3.15pm.

We know how busy life is which is why we also offer a breakfast club, an after school club and extended day. This allows children to be dropped off from 7.40am and collected at 5.25pm. These wrap around care options are becoming increasingly popular.
