Fun Science!

16th November 2020

Year 7 have been learning about cells and the functions of different cell parts. Some pupils have been creating their own 3D model cells to help them learn the organelle names and Miss Holden was very impressed by the creative approach the pupils have taken. A range of materials have been used for the different parts – a pom pom for a nucleus, raspberry jelly for a vacuole and a plant cell made entirely of fruit and vegetables!

Year 5 have been learning about the solar system. Part of the topic focussed on space exploration and travelling to the moon. Pupils learned facts about conditions on the moon by doing a treasure hunt in the science labs. They also used the European Space Agency website to research more information before creating some fantastic labelled designs on paper. Some pupils took it a step further and created some lovely 3D models.
