World Teachers’ Day

5th October 2020

Today we celebrate World Teachers Day! Set up in 1994, the day celebrates the marking of the ‘teaching in Freedom’ in 1996 and is observed all over the world. The day centres around ‘acknowledging, evaluating and enhancing the instructors of the world’ and honours educators’ associations around the world. World Teachers’ Day speaks to a massive token to the mindfulness, comprehension and thankfulness showed for the fundamental commitment that educators make in advancement by teaching.

Michael Morpurgo said, ‘So often and for so many of us, it is a teacher who changed our lives, was at our side through hard and difficult times, who lifted us up when we were down, helped us find our voice, gave us confidence when we needed it most, set us on a path that we have followed ever since’.
