Learning an Instrument at Danes Hill

26th February 2019

At Danes Hill we offer private music lessons to children covering a huge range of musical instruments. This afternoon the sound of a cello could be heard, being played beautifully by a Year 2 student, also Phoebe. V was having her weekly violin lesson and Jake. S was practising the drums with Mr May. The choices of instruments are vast including; the clarinet, saxophone, oboe, french horn, guitar and many more. Once the children reach a certain level, they have the opportunity to join the school orchestra or jazz band. Rehearsals take place on a Monday afternoon in the Ark and perform at various concerts and events throughout the year such as Grandparents’ Day and the Summer Concert. We have amazing musical achievements, performances and some very talented musicians!
