Breaststroke Month

1st February 2019

At the swimming pool, Mrs Larkin has introduced breaststroke month. The main focus of the whole school’s swimming lessons will be Breaststroke. Year 3 were learning the skill of the stroke, working on the arms reaching the four different positions from an 11, to a Y as well as pushing their legs to create a 90 degree angle and drive the body forwards. This was all created with the help of a woggle and tennis balls! Years 2 and 3 are learning the skill of breaststroke, further up the school they are perfecting the stroke, pushing their stamina and speed whilst keeping the form and shapes they have learnt historically. In the future, Mrs Larkin plans to have Butterfly month and lifesaving month.
