On Thursday, the U9 hockey team travelled to Hawthorns to play in the annual U9 Hockey Tournament. It was a beautiful afternoon to play hockey. The girls were keen to play and put all the skills they have learnt so far this term in to practise. The tournament was a round robin format, meaning that Danes Hill were able to play all of the best schools in the area. The results were:
Feltonfleet won 1-0
Hazelwood won 2-0
Micklefield won 3-0
Reigate St Mary’s won 2-0
St George’s drew 0-0
Hawthorns won 1-0
Having not lost a match and not conceded a single goal Danes Hill were joint 1st place on points with St George’s. Unfortunately, when the points went to goal difference, St George’s had scored more goals than us placing Danes Hill in 2nd place. This is a great achievement and the girls are showing amazing promise for more success over the rest of the hockey term. Well done!!
