On Friday the 1st hockey team travelled to Devon for a training weekend in preparation for the IAPS. They had a great evening fixture against ISCA Hockey Club, playing their U12 and U13 teams, winning and drawing these matches. Zoe and Clara were also nominated by the opposition as players of the match for these games, due to their fantastic play. Well done!
After an enjoyable meal, the girls were early to bed in preparation for the Tournament at Blundells School on the Saturday. Seven schools attended and it was so beneficial to be able to play lots of teams we have never encountered before. Despite strong opposition the team played exceptionally well and are beginning to gel after only 2 weeks of practice. It was also fantastic so see the girls try new skills in game situations and score some fantastic individual and team goals.
The team won all of our matches, scoring 26 goals and only conceding 5, and were crowned tournament champions. We are extremely proud of the girls and hope that this great experience puts them in good stead for our upcoming Danes Hill tournament.
