Cross Country Events

8th October 2019

It was a busy day for cross country events on Monday 7 October at Guildford High School and Ripley Court.

There were 21 girls from Years 3-6 who travelled to Guildford High School to compete in their annual cross country competition. The girls were full of excitement as the Danes Hill Year 6 girls lead the team round the course to warm up.

The Year 3 team went first, all running extremely well. A special mention to E.Morris who came 2nd and R.Day who came 6th.

The Year 4 and 5 team also ran extremely well, some of them running their best race of the season.

Finally, it was the Year 6 team, who came 1st place overall in the team event. K. Johnson did exceptionally well, coming 2nd place, followed closely by A.Bednall in 4th place. Well done to all the girls on a fantastic race!

There were also 16 girls who competed at the U9, U11 and U13 Ripley Court Cross country competition. This was an exciting event which included hay bales that the runners jumped over and a variety of terrains.

All of the teams ran extremely well with a particular mention to the U13 team with the first 4 scoring runners all achieving the first 4 positions and taking home a winning shield and team medals.

Prior’s Field Cross Country Competition 

On Wednesday 9 October the U11 and U10 cross country teams went to Prior’s Field to compete in their annual competition, 22 schools competed in the race. The U10s ran an excellent race, with P A Roberts coming in 2nd place. The U11 also had a fantastic race all coming in the top 30. This resulted in the U11s coming in 2nd place overall. Well done to all the girls involved!

Well done to all of the runners. It was wonderful to see so many girls competing at cross country!
