On Monday 1 July a select number of students competed at the National Preparatory School Athletics competition in Birmingham. These included G Butler, X Radloff, A Jenkins and J Thompson for the girls; and A Washington, J Goodall, L Clayman and T Weston for the boys.
As this was the National competition, the opposition was extremely strong in every event and therefore was incredibly tough for all of the athletes. G Butler competed in both the 75m hurdles and the 100m sprint and managed to secure some good times in the heats, whilst J Thompson and X Radloff were able to secure personal bests in the 800m and the 100m respectively. A Jenkins also put in a strong performance in the Long Jump.
A Washington competed in the shot putt and put in a good effort, but the boys put in a great performance in the 4x100m narrowly missing out on third place.
