Royal Institute of Chemistry Christmas Lectures

13th August 2018

Started by Michael Faraday in 1825 the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures have been the UK’s flagship science series and we were delighted to welcome them to the Ark. Pupils in the Main School were treated to some exciting experiments on food including blowing up a jelly baby and creating a flour fireball!

Perhaps most eye-opening for both students and staff was learning how much energy is required to jump up and down 10 times. This was a fun learning experience for all as the term draws to its end and certainly provides food for thought with the festive holidays approaching!
