Years 2-8
Competitive downhill skiing is one of the most successful and popular sports at Danes Hill. The ski team train at Sandown ski centre and are coached by a professional instructor from the centre. Pupils should wear gloves, trousers and a long sleeved top. Helmets, skis and poles can all be borrowed when they arrive at training.
All skiers are welcome to try the club but should be competent skiers who can use a button lift independently. Pupils should meet at Sandown and be collected at the end of the sessions. During the season we enter a range of competitions including the Surrey Championships, National Championships, Satipski and the IAPS International in Italy. Selection is based on ability and the number of competitors for each event varies. ?
