WWI Workshops with Year 7

13th October 2021

Paul Dowswell, an author, came to visit the Year 7 children today for an exciting workshop on WWI. Paul Dowswell writes award-winning historical fiction for young adults set in the 20th century and are primarily concerned with the First or Second World War and life in totalitarian regimes. Dowswell’s novels are impeccably researched, powerful and engrossing. The children were shown a range of photos depicting certain moments in history which they explored and unpacked before working on some synonyms for important language used frequently in war-based literature. The children learned a lot of useful writing techniques which they can now take away to use  in their English lessons.
