World War One Artefacts

29th September 2021

One of our Year 7 children brought in some wonderful World War One artefacts to show her class. They belonged to her Uncle’s Great Grandfather who fought courageously in World War One. N Friedlander had bought in his cigarette tin which has written on the lid, ‘Christmas 1944’ and some beautifully intricate cards, one which reads ‘Souvenir of Rouen’ and the other ‘Remember’. These artefacts have been kept in immaculate condition. In their English lessons, the children are looking at World War One literature and will go on to study Michael Morpurgo’s novel ‘Private Peaceful’.
