On Tuesday 28 September the under 11 A girls hockey team travelled to Hurstpierpoint College for a regional IAPS qualifying tournament. There were 19 teams in total, with the top 3 teams qualifying for nationals. Danes Hill started off strongly with 3 wins from 3 in our pool against, Cumnor House, Rowan Prep, and Kent College. This meant the girls went through as top of our pool, the girls were then up against Downsend in the quarter-final. The girls had lost a couple of weeks prior to them in another tournament, so it was going to be a tough game. We ended up winning the match 1-0 and progressed to the semi-final. Danes Hill then played the hosts Hurst Prep in the semi-final where they put out one of their strongest performances winning 3 nil. On to the final, against Rowan Prep again! The girls beat them again winning 3-2. This meant Danes Hill were crowned Regional Champions and have qualified for nationals. Well done to all the girls!
