NATIONAL FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS!

25th June 2021

On Tuesday 22 June the U11 girls’ football team travelled to Hertfordshire to compete in the ISFA finals. They enjoyed five games throughout the day and got off to a great start with a 2 -1 win against Cathedral School. The second game was against St.Cedd’s and they proved to be tough competition. The girls defended well and there was a moment of brilliance where Lucy D was able to score from our own box which allowed us to win this game 1 – 0. This winning streak continued for their 3rd and 4th games with wins against both Brentwood and Repton. The final match of the day was against the same team the girls drew in the finals of the qualifiers, therefore, we knew it was going to be a difficult game. Despite many chances, the girls, unfortunately, lost this final match against Blackheath 2-0.

As the girls won 4 out of 5 games they were still able to score the most points in the competition and so won the tournament overall. The girls played brilliantly throughout the day and should be extremely proud of their performance.
