Year 8 Raven Award

28th April 2021

This morning in their assembly, Year 8 children were awarded their Raven Award. This programme encourages the children out of their comfort zone and gives them the chance to face new challenges at home and around the community. There are four ‘pillars of responsibility in the programme which the pupils cover. They are: responsibility to oneself, their family, the school community and the wider community. Mr Bethel and Mr Hughes have acted as mentors for the participating pupils.

The children had the responsibility of thinking of goals they would like to set themselves in each pillar. The children were then asked to gather letters of evidence to showcase the work they had achieved. The Raven Award gives them a marked increase in their confidence and competence; together with an improved awareness of their responsibilities. Congratulations to all of the Year 8 pupils who were awarded their Raven Award today.
