Today we celebrate National Tell a Story Day! People all around the world are joining in this wonderful celebration of the art of storytelling. The aim of the day is to get participants of all ages telling, sharing and listening to each others stories. This could be by reading one of your favourite books or creating your own story from your imagination. This morning in the library, the Year 4 children were getting stuck into their reading books, enjoying some quiet time to read in their reading period. The children recommened their favourite books to their friends and explored the shelves of wonderful literature and amazing authors. At Bevendean, the Year 1 children were enjoying some time in their book corner, listening to each others stories, and getting lost in the magical world of storytelling. Today has been an amazing celebration and we are reminded of something J.K Rowling once wrote, No story lives unless someone wants to listen.
