Year 3 to 8 girls have enjoyed their first week of playing in an exciting mixed ability fantasy hockey tournament in their afternoon games lesson. Due to fixtures not taking place, the aim is to enable the pupils to still be involved in competitive matches, having a consistent team focus each week. Team names have been chosen and a new captain is selected each week. The captain has an important role in managing the team and being in charge of positions and substitutions. At the end of each tournament, points are added together from the matches, players are awarded certificates, and transfers are made between the teams. After the 6 week block of tournaments, there will be an overall winning team. We look forward to the girls’ continued enthusiasm and wish the teams the best of luck!
