Year 6 hop-a-thon!

16th September 2020

This morning, Mrs Selmes took her Year 6 science class outside for a speed experiment. The children had to hop 6 metres as quickly as they could, backwards! One of the children timed the person hopping with a stopwatch whilst one recorded their speed. Their study of measuring lengths and the use of appropriate equipment was put to the test.

When they returned to the classroom they practised their ability to draw up a table, read the data recorded and plot a graph. The children made an estimation of who they thought would be the fastest before beginning their experiment. They had a wonderful time testing their hopping speeds putting the theory they had learnt in the classroom into practise.
