The 1st netball team took part in the Edgeborough Netball Tournament on Saturday 8 February. The team played 5 matches of 14 minutes and played back to back games. Due to illness and injury, the girls had 7 players which meant that every player was required for all games. The girls demonstrated their fantastic fitness from start to finish and played extremely well as a team.
The first match against the host school, Edgeborough, was an extremely close game. Both teams had a number of chances in their attacking circles. The final result ended with Danes Hill winning 5-4.
The next game was against Lord Wandsworth College. Danes Hill was up by a number of goals at half time but the opposition came back in the second half. On the final whistle, Danes Hill won the game 5-3.
In the next 3 games, Danes Hill continued to demonstrate their netball strengths and won convincingly.
8-1 to Portsmouth Grammar School 2
6-3 to Portsmouth Grammar School 1
10-3 to Yateley Manor.
At the end of the tournament, the team had won all of their 5 matches putting them on maximum points and winning the tournament. The girls were delighted to receive their gold medals.
