In the Autumn Term, Combat Stress was the chosen charity for Danes Hill, a charity that supports veterans mental health. For almost a century this charity has helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict, on the phone, online, in the community and at their specialist centres.
Throughout the term the money raised from the school events, such as the Middle School charities afternoon, are donated to this incredible charity. Danes Hill was able to raise £5,748 for Combat Stress and Mr R Marsh came in to thank the children for all their hard work and incredible donation. Each term the school chooses a different charity. For the Spring Term the chosen charity is The Cure Parkinsons Trust, an organisation determined to find the cure for Parkinsons. We look forward to raising money for this cause.
