This afternoon Mrs Selmes science class went out on a materials hunt. In their lessons they have been studying the properties of materials and describing them, such as flexible or rigid. The Year 5 class searched around for metal, plastic, wood and glass finding many examples of each material. Mrs Selmes asked them to consider why they were made of this material, Oliver found a fence post made of metal and with his friends was considering why this material was used. The children really enjoyed this practical lesson, taking time out of the lab to find the materials used in their school.
