Year 1 visited Windsor Castle on Wednesday 22 January. They visited the state apartment and saw the spotting armour, weapons, beautiful furniture and hundreds of amazing portraits. A variety of children had the opportunity to dress up as knights, bishops, servants and the lady herself during the Who is the Queen? workshop, the remaining children had the important job of being in charge of the corgis! The children found it fascinating to walk through St Georges Chapel and see memorials of past kings and queens. Other highlights included seeing a very serious looking guard performing his duties and visiting Queen Marys amazing and intricate dolls house. The children had a brilliant day and learned a lot about the history of the Castle.
