Elephant Toothpaste Experiment!

20th January 2020

This morning Mr Andrews showed the children a popular experiment in their assembly. Recently a world record was broken, the largest elephant toothpaste fountain was created. This experiment is completely environmentally friendly! Elephant’s toothpaste is a foamy substance caused by the rapid decomposition of hydrogen peroxide using potassium iodide or yeast and warm water as a catalyst. As the substances mix a huge fountain of foam is formed.

The children witnessed the experiment live in the Ark and were amazed by the effects it had. Following the experiment, the children watched the video of the world record being broken, the children watched with absolute amazement and couldn’t believe the size of this fountain created in the garden of a famous YouTuber’s house.
