On Thursday afternoon, the U13A girls’ hockey team hosted James Allens Girls’ School in the first round of the National ISHC Cup competition. This exciting new tournament for the girls is a straight knockout format featuring 50 schools from around the country.
The girls started brilliantly, scoring two early goals to settle any potential nerves. Danes Hill moved the ball around well, creating a number of chances but were unable to add to the score before half-time.
After the break, the girls played with an even greater intensity, scoring 5 unanswered goals to run out 7-0 winners.
The team now waits on the winner of Godolphin and Latymer v St Georges to determine who they will play, away from home, in Round 2.
