On Monday 9 September, 22 Year 7 and 8 pupils travelled to Surrey Sports Parks performance laboratory in Guildford for a morning of fitness testing. The extremely well equipped lab has been visited by numerous elite athletics, including the Harlequins rugby team and womans England rugby squad and now Danes Hill students.
The selected senior pupils were eager to demonstrate their current fitness levels by completing a variety of fitness tests. Their strength, speed, agility, power, flexibility and reactions were tested and recorded which sparked healthy competition between their peers. Those involved were keen to beat their previous results and get feedback from the Sports Science professionals.
It was a fantastic morning and gave the pupils first hand experience of performance and clinical exercise science testing.
