Danes Hill First IAPs National Football Tournament

7th November 2018

On Saturday 13 October, Danes Hill hosted there first IAPs 6-a-side National Football Tournament. The senior boys 1st team played some great football winning there group with 3 wins and a draw. The results were 3-0 win vs Newlands House, 0-0 draw vs Cranleigh, 5-0 win vs Solefield and a 3-0 win vs Aldro. This set up a semi-final vs Bede’s School. Danes Hill started fast scoring 2 quick goals. They then dominated possession in the second half to secure the win. In the final we played local rivals Downsend. It was a tight affair with both teams demonstrating lots of attacking football. Downsend ran out 1-0 winners after scoring a penalty late on in the game. Although Danes Hill were runners up on the day, they still qualified for National Finals day on Sunday 4 November, at King’s College, Taunton. Good luck boys!

I would also like to say a big thank you to our ground staff for ensuring that our pitches were of the highest quality and the catering team for providing a constant supply of tea, coffee and bacon butties!
