U13 Boys Surrey Hockey

12th September 2018

Monday 5 March saw the rescheduled U13 boys Surrey Hockey qualifiers take place at Kingston Grammar School. The Danes Hill squad made their way to the tournament with some degree of intrepidation, largely due to the lack of training time because of snow but also due to the fact that out of the 11 schools entered Danes Hill are the only school to play just a half term of competitive hockey! The boys had a tough 2:0 loss to St Andrews in the first game but then showed some great team spirit to win 2:1 over Hinchley Wood in the 2nd. After a tough loss against eventual winners St Georges, Danes Hill then went on to bounce back and win 2:1 over a strong Amesbury side, finishing 3rd in their group! A final 2:0 loss to Cranleigh meant Danes Hill finished a very admirable 6th place out of 11 teams. Well done all and good luck for the rest of the term!
