The U13 boys undertook their first ever competitive basketball fixture this week as they took on local rivals Lanesborough.
It turned out to be a thrilling game for the spectators who were court side at Lanesborough and credit must go to the Danes Hill squad of ten for putting in such a fantastic display against a school who had been playing competitively since September. Indeed the boys took an early lead in the match before their hosts came back strongly. The result was still in the balance with two minutes to go as only one point separated the two teams. Unfortunately for Danes Hill, it was Lanesborough who scored one final basket on the buzzer, winning 22-20.
It was a sterling effort by the boys and the experience will stand them in excellent stead in any future fixtures.
