On Saturday October 14 the rowing club’s 1st crew of Benjamin Pettifar, Oscar Murray, Jacob Coutts, and Usman Ali, coxed by George Johnson entered the Monkton Bluefriars Head of the River race on the River Avon near Bath.
It was a timed race where they had to race 1100 metres up river and then turn before racing 1100 metres back down the river. The times of each race were then added together.
The teams time of 14.30 put them just ahead of a J14 crew from Great Marlow School.
An impressive start to the rowing season!
