As part of the sporting gifted and talented programme run by the games department the year 7 and 8 gifted and talented pupils were treated to a session on how to improve their agility and speed by two ex-England international athletes from Silvermere Academy. The session was fun and informative, and the children experienced some fast footwork SAQ drills and also were able to test their speed using laser powered speed gates.
The children have already experienced an interesting talk on nutrition, and we hope they can use this information to improve their own sporting performances. We are looking forward to inviting Silvermere back in the Summer Term.
