Danes Hills senior boys took to the water for the first regatta of the season, taking on Cranmore and Wetherby Prep in a 3000m sprint from Weybridge to Walton Rowing Club.
It was a tough race for the 1st Quad, coming in third, but Danes Hill disappointment turned to elation as the 1st Octuple rowed their way to gold. A very big well done to the boys for a great start to the season and also to the boys in the indoor rowing team as Danes Hill topped the rankings in the indoor rowing championships at both Year 7 and Year 8 this month.
The schools indoor rowing department has gone from strength to strength in recent years and we welcome all boys from Years 6-8 to give the sport a go on Wednesday mornings from 7:45am. Alternatively, if they would prefer to get out on the river, Walton Rowing Club host drop-in sessions every Saturday that also welcomes boys of all abilities from Years 6-8.
