On Wednesday the U11 A team travelled to Hurstpierpoint to take part in the annual IAPS tournament. The girls had worked really hard and had performed very well at recent tournaments. The team first came up against Brighton College who unfortunately scored two goals against Danes Hill. The girls went onto to play some fantastic hockey beating Newton Prep 4 -1. With the girls now in their stride we were up against our strongest opposition, St Michael’s Prep. The girls defended with real tenacity and played fantastically well as a team, keeping St Michael’s chances at bay. The game finished 0-0 and Danes Hill were the only team not to concede a goal against them. Our last match saw us against Streatham and Clapham Prep. The girls attacking play was superb however their goalkeeper made some fantastic saves and it took us until an excellent strike from a short corner in the last minute of the game to win 1-0. We are extremely proud of the girls for achieving 3rd place in this competition. They have improved so much and displayed excellent hockey throughout the tournament. Well done!
