Superb Spanish Trip

13th August 2018

On Thursday 17 March, Mrs Hodgson, Miss Ashton and Mrs Callis took a very excited group of Year 7 and Year 6 to Andalucía in southern Spain. We flew to Seville and went straight to the Seville Football stadium where we had a tour booked. We stayed in a delightful hotel in the centre of town and visited Seville Cathedral, climbing the Giralda Tower and seeing the tomb of Christopher Columbus. We also went to El Alcazar (the Moorish Palace) and gardens, rowed boats around the Plaza España, took in an incredible Flamenco show, had a tour of the bullring, ate tapas and paella and marvelled at all the oranges in the trees. On Saturday we travelled to Cádiz via Jerez where we took in the sights as well as sampling chocolate y churros! In Cádiz we stayed by the beach and climbed the Torre Tavira which has been the official watch tower of the town since 1778. We had amazing views and also experienced the Camera Obscura. On Sunday we spent the day in Chipiona, a typical Spanish town where we climbed the lighthouse and then relaxed on the beautiful wide sandy beach. It was a really fantastic trip and all the children were a credit to their school and families!
