Taster Day at Danes Hill

There’s no better way to get to know Danes Hill than to spend a day with us. Our Taster Day gives your child the chance to experience school life first-hand: joining lessons, making new friends and discovering what makes our community special.
Who is it for?
Children who are considering joining Danes Hill during the current academic year (2026/2027) or in the next academic year (2027/2028).
Timings
Reception & Year 1 Entry
9.30am – 11.30am
Year 2 Entry
9.30am – 3.30pm
Years 3-8 Entry
8.30am – 3.30pm
What to expect
Join lessons alongside current pupils in their year group
Meet a pupil buddy who will look after your child throughout the day
Enjoy lunch and activities with their new classmates
Meet our Head, Colin Baty
Receive feedback from us following the day
What to bring
Your child is welcome to wear their current school uniform or smart casual clothing. Please bring, e.g. a water bottle, PE kit or indoor shoes.
Lunch and refreshments are provided. Please let us know in advance about any allergies or dietary requirements.
Arrival and collection
On arrival, please come to the Main Reception, where our Admissions team will welcome you and introduce your child to their buddy. Please collect your child from reception at the time shown above.
Who can attend?
Taster Day is open to families who have registered with Danes Hill or completed a Confidential Information Form.
