Co-Curricular Activities
Our co-curricular programme gives every child the chance to try something new, develop an existing talent or simply enjoy time with friends doing something they love. Taking part is entirely voluntary, with clubs running before school, at lunchtime and after school. The programme has long been at the heart of school life at Danes Hill, helping pupils build confidence and discover passions that often stay with them well beyond their time here.
Highlights
Around 70 clubs run across the school week. Pupils can build and programme robots, learn to write real code in Python, or work towards LAMDA qualifications in speech and drama. Keen athletes can train and compete with our sports squads or start the day with our Cross-Country Breakfast Club, while older pupils benefit from dedicated 11+ and scholarship support. Our youngest children can enjoy beginners’ swimming, Mini Crickets and gardening. Clubs are refreshed each term, so there is always something new to discover.
Areas we cover
Sport: Football, rugby, netball, hockey, cricket, basketball, swimming, athletics, gymnastics, badminton, squash, tennis, golf, fencing, judo, climbing and mountain biking.
Music: Aura, Radiance and Ignite choirs, Vox Celeste, the Junior and Upper School Bands, and Music Tech Club.
Drama and the arts: Drama Club, LAMDA, Street Dance, Art Club, Sewing and Creative Writing.
STEM: Creative Robotics & AI, Python Coding, Science Club, Lego Club and Fix It & Build It.
Academic enrichment: Scholars’ clubs, 11+ preparation clinics in English and Maths, Pre-Test Interview Practice and Public Speaking.
Wellbeing: Chill Out, Mindfulness Colouring, Journaling, Gardening and Board Games.
