It is so important that children are given the best possible start in school in order to shape their education and beyond. Our Pre-prep does just that. Danes Hill School Pre-prep is located on Steels Lane in Oxshott Surrey and is home to our Nursery, Reception and Year 1 children.
If children love coming to school and love being at school they will love learning. And if they love learning they will develop and make the most progress from their individual starting points. Our exceptional teachers ensure this is true for every boy and girl who walks through our doors.
We ensure that we know our children exceptionally well and every child is treated as a unique individual. We find out about their learning preferences and interests and we utilise a variety of teaching strategies to get the most out of our pupils.
Alongside their dedicated class teacher the children are taught by our talented specialist teachers. This includes lessons such as forest school, sport, swimming, performing arts, French and Spanish.
We recognise that young children thrive and their minds and bodies develop best when they have access to stimulating outdoor environments. At our Pre-Prep pupils have regular timetabled days when learning takes place outdoors. The children regularly visit our outdoor learning environment called the Paddock with our trained Forest School teachers.
Despite being on a separate site, the Danes Hill Pre-prep is very much part of Danes Hill School and children benefit from the use of the facilities at the Prep School including the state-of-the-art Sports Hall and 10m high climbing wall. In Year 1 children have more opportunities to visit the Prep School as they prepare for their move up to Year 2.
The day starts between 8.25am and 8.55am with registers taken at 8.55am. End of day is at 3.15pm. Many families also make use of our wrap around care which includes a breakfast club from 7.40am and extended day ending at 5.25pm.
