Pre-Prep Guidelines

All school uniform, including underwear, socks, games clothes, swimming kit and footwear must be clearly marked with the child’s name. Class teachers will inform you termly of the days when games and swimming kit are required. On Fridays, dirty lunch aprons and games kits should be taken home to be washed. Swimming kits should be taken home on the day the children swim.

  • It is expected that all pupils will maintain a smart appearance (shoes polished, shirts properly buttoned and tucked in) and that all clothing will be clean and in good repair.
  • Girls’ long hair should always be tied up using only blue or white ribbons/bands for the sake of safety and correct appearance when wearing uniform.
  • Boys should have an appropriate hair style for wearing with uniform. Boys’ hair should not be long enough to touch the collar.
  • It is recommended that blazers are dry cleaned every half term. Manufacturers’ instructions should be followed on all washable items.
  • All articles (including socks and underwear) must be clearly and indelibly marked with the owner’s name.
  • No responsibility can be accepted for unmarked items.
  • No watches or jewellery to be worn in school. Permission should be sought from the Head of Pre-Prep if jewellery is required to be worn for religious reasons. No toys, games or money (except with special permission) are allowed at school.

During timetabled sessions in the Paddock and for damp conditions at playtimes at Bevendean, all children wear the all-in-one waterproof suit. This needs to be named and kept in school all week (in a named bag).

Wellington boots are also needed in school all week. Paddock Suits can be purchased from the Bevendean Office.

Swimming Kit

For swimming, children need a towel, swimming costume/trunks, a regulation hat, goggles, a robe and croc type shoes in a swimming bag named on the outside.

Lost Property

Lost property can be located outside the Bevendean Office. Parents may collect items of property before or after school. Wherever possible all items of clearly named lost property will be returned to their rightful owners
