Welcome to Upper School

The Upper School is made up of three year groups – Years 6, 7 and 8. Children are encouraged to establish, strengthen and value friendships and to support and encourage each other in their endeavours.

A well-established House system introduces the fun of lively competition and develops a bond among pupils across the age range. Participation and achievements are recognised and celebrated.

We reward effort, progress and achievement in all areas of school life through a commendation and house point system and the children are able to work their way through a series of badges culminating in a senior pin.

Our academic programme is both challenging and stimulating. The children are prepared for pre-testing to a wide range of senior schools and a large number of the Year 6 and 8 pupils are entered for a variety of scholarships.

There is a vast range of clubs and after school activities on offer, all of which enable the children to develop their interests outside the classroom.

Our children represent the school at a number of sports and both girls and boys play against other prep schools on the local circuit as well as being entered for county, regional and national events.

We ask that each pupil rises to the challenges and opportunities on offer and we believe that our oldest children should be well mannered, confident leaders, and good role models to the younger children. We look forward to making their time in the senior section of the school a successful, rewarding and enjoyable experience for all.
