This morning in their English lessons, Year 4 made some delicious smoothies. In their lessons last week the children created a recipe and advertisement for their smoothie, considering the ingredients, the utensils needed, the advertising pitch and the name. To help the children in their advertising task they studied various adverts on TV and in the newspaper to see how their use of language, rhyme, onomatopoeia and alliteration sell their product to the customer. P Vincent used these tools to create the name of her smoothie, ‘Berry Blast’ which was very popular with the children in her year. She included strawberries, banana, milk, yoghurt, ice cream and raspberries to produce a delicious pink smoothie. The children agreed all of the smoothies created were very tasty and advertised well.
