Year 8 Valentine’s Day Cooking!

14th February 2019

Year 8 had their weekly cooking session today with Mr Taylor. This week they all bought in the ingredients to make stir fry, a simple yet tasty dish. Stir frying is a Chinese cooking technique in which ingredients are fried in a small amount of hot oil in a wok or frying pan. Following their recipe books, they chopped the vegetables and their chosen meat, prepped the pan with oil, cooked all the ingredients together and finished with some seasoning and a splash of soy sauce. The room smelt delicious and each Year 8 pupil tried their stir fry and seemed very pleased with their results. Nila. P said ‘I cook every Wednesday for my family dinner and I will definitely use this recipe on them soon. I love cooking in and out of school’. Lily. G explained she only cooks with her Grandparents and is glad to be cooking in school to get more practice up her sleeve. The end result was amazing and they even displayed their end product with a Valentine’s Day addition!
