The Year 4 Boys rugby team, had a rocky start to 2020 losing both their opening games. Some big questions were being asked of the boys as they headed to the annual Shrewsbury House Rugby festival last Friday. The results were:
Vs Dulwich Won 10-5
Vs Yardley Court Won 25-10
Vs Caldicott Won 10-0
Vs Downsend Won 20-10
This meant the boys finished top of their group and progressed to play winners of the other group. This was hosts Shrewsbury House who had also not lost a game during the tournament. Despite some real fire power in attack the U9’s managed to hold off the opposition offence and turn over enough ball to win the game. Final score: Danes Hill 15 – Shrewsbury House School 10.
-F Rainbow received the Most Improved player award.
-N Onkwonko received the tackler of the day award.
-S Terry received the Player of the Tournament award.
This was an amazing achievement against some seriously tough opposition. The season is looking a little brighter for the boys now and we in the games department can’t wait to see what else they are capable of.
