The U12 girls hockey team travelled to Hurstpierpoint for the National IAPS Hockey Championships on 27 November. The girls were in high spirits and have been working extremely hard throughout the term for this national competition. They have won many school tournaments and been extremely committed to early morning training.
In the pool stages of this competition, the girls were on fire with their goal scoring, winning matches 4-0, 6-0, 7-0 and 5-0. The games were only 12 minutes long so this just showed how superbly the girls were playing.
The girls got through to the Cup Quarter Finals and were drawing 1-1 at full time against Foremarke Hall. The Danes Hill team had many chances to score but were unfortunate to finish them. The match then went into extra time and golden goal. Danes Hill conceded a goal and were unfortunately out of the competition.
We are so proud of the girls and their achievements in hockey. To be National Cup Quarter Finalists and top 5th-8th IAPS hockey school in the country is an amazing achievement. We look forward to their continued successes in hockey in the near future.
