U11 National Plate Champions!

22nd November 2018

On the 21 November, the U11 girls hockey team played in the National IAPS Tournament at Rugby School. There were 128 hockey teams who entered this competition with 28 schools qualifying for this National tournament..

In the pool stages of the competition, the girls started fantastically, winning 1-0 and 2-0. They were then unfortunate to lose there next matches by a narrow margin.

They then went through to the quarter finals of the National Plate competition. This game against Brookhurst demonstrated their best hockey yet. Despite being down 1-0 at half time, they went on to win the game 4-1 in spectacular fashion. This meant they were through to the semi finals against a local side, Edgeborough. The girls were in high spirits and from a short corner scored to win the game.

This meant the girls were then through to the National Plate Finals! In the final, the girls got an early goal followed by another goal in the first half. The girls kept their lead in the second half and absolutely dominated the game. On the final whistle, the girls had won the final 2-0 and crowned IAPS Plate National Champions!

We are extremely proud of the girls achievement- an outstanding performance.

Congratulations to all of the girls!
