On Saturday 28 September Danes Hill U8 Boys A team travelled to Cranmore for their 5 a-side football tournament. Each boy rotated through various positions during the matches and played extremely well developing their football.
They first played Cumnor House and although they lost 1-0 Danes Hill had 90% possession so spirits remained high. The children then had a re-match against Shrewsbury House who Danes Hill had only played the previous day and this time we got the result we deserved winning 5-1. Our final group stage match pitted us against a very strong Parkside team and after a close match Danes Hill took home the win 1-0 and finished the group in first place. In the semi-final Danes Hill played KCJS having the majority of possession, however, although hitting the crossbar and post twice the team came up short losing 1-0.
This unfortunately meant we did not progress to the finals but the boys did extremely well and should all be very proud of themselves.
