Main School World Book Day

4th September 2018

Children, and perhaps more interestingly, the staff at Main School got into character this week to take part in World Book Day by coming to school dressed as their favourite literary figure.

There were some spectacular costumes on display, all the staff and management produced some impressive outfits, most notably the Year 4 teachers who came as Oompa Loompas. The Deputy Head came as a Stormtrooper and even conducted assembly in his costume, whilst the Bursar turned into the Bearser, wowing the children in both the Main School and Bevendean.

The festivities were led by our Head Librarian, Lucy Keat, who herself dressed as The Very Hungry Caterpillar and conducted the introduction to assembly, highlighting the importance of World Book Day.

The day was given a competitive edge as the children were given the task of identifying as many of the 30 teachers’ costumes as possible. The winner will be announced shortly, after Mrs Keat has marked the entries.
