On Friday, the U12 hockey team travelled to Charterhouse for the Surrey Plate Competition.
With 30 teams competing, Danes Hill faced 9 tough group games against the best schools in the county.
A fantastic start for the girls saw a 2-0 win against Ibstock Place quickly followed by a 4-0 win over Reigate Grammar. Consecutive 1-1 draws against Royal Russell and Tiffin slowed momentum before three brilliant wins against St Teresas (2-0), Hinchley Wood (3-0) and Wimbledon High (2-0) maintained the girls unbeaten streak. In a tough final two games, 0-0 draws against Surbiton High and Kingston Grammar left the girls just outside of the top two positions required to make the cup knockout.
In their playoff games, the girls beat Epsom College 2-0 to end the day unbeaten through all 10 games, conceding a tournament-best 2 goals.
