The U12 A and B teams played their first hockey tournament of the season at Lingfield College on Wednesday 12 September.
In the pool stages the A team played 3 matches. The results were:
2-0 win against St John’s
2-0 win against Seaford College
0-0 draw against Sevenoaks
The girls were then through to the semi final playing Epsom College and winning 2-0. The final was extremely exciting with the team playing their best hockey to date. Both teams had chances to score but the final result ended 0-0 draw. We were then unlucky to lose 2-1 in the penalty shuffles. We are extremely proud of our 2nd place position. A superb start to the hockey season!
The U12 B also played fantastically well throughout the tournament. During the pool stages the team demonstrated some excellent attacking and defending skills, maintaining possession in their opponents half. Their hard work resulted in them finishing 2nd in their pool, putting them through to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals they faced Seaford College. The team played their best hockey of the day, winning 4-0. In the final, we came up against Sevenoaks. The teams defence were tested as Sevenoaks attack was strong. The final score was 0-2 which resulted in silver medals for Danes Hill, an excellent achievement and a promising start for the rest of the season.
