On Friday 6 December a team of girls from Years, 3 to 6 went to Guildford High School to take part in their annual Splash and Dash Biathlon event.
The girls excelled themselves in their fantastic Christmas food outfits and performed an excellent dance to “All I want for Christmas is Food.”
The Year 3 and 4 girls started off the event with their run. This was a very muddy cross country route around Stoke Park. E.Morris had an excellent run coming in 3rd place and E.Guganeswaran came 14th in the Year 4 race. Meanwhile, the Year 5 and 6 girls started in the swimming pool. The swim consisted of a 6 x 25m relay which was very exciting for all of the girls.
After a hot chocolate break, the Year 5 and 6 pupils headed outside to complete their run and the Year 3 and 4 children went into the pool. P.Arnold- Roberts and K.Johnson ran exceptionally well coming 2nd and 3rd in their age groups. A huge well done to the Year 6 girls who won gold medals for their run.
In the swimming pool, the Year 3 and 4 children had a very good relay race. A special mention to the Year 3’s who were awarded bronze medals for coming 3rd out of 9 teams.
Overall, with a combined score in the run and swim, put Danes Hill in 3rd place. A great achievement, well done girls!
